Hello and welcome... My name is Warren Andrew (aka Woz).
With over 40 years angling experience to date I have fished many different angling disciplines from coarse and match fishing through to targeting specimen fish such as Carp, Barbel and Pike, fishing canals, rivers and stillwaters although my true passion lies in fly fishing and fly tying.
In 2018 I took up the role of project manger for the Mersey Rivers Trust covering the upper river Mersey, Tame and Goyt and sit on the EA DEFRA Upper Mersey Rivers Catchment Partnership Committee, which looks at all aspects and implements funding and projects to improve our rivers.
I am currently the Head Bailiff and resident fly fishing guide and instructor for Carrbrook Angling Club.
I'm also a Area Coordinator for the Angling Trust (VBS) Voluntary Bailiff Service as a Water Bailiff helping to protect our 'wild' fish stocks and their surrounding habitat from poaching and illegal fishing.
I took up fly fishing in my teenage years when I would join my uncle on various stillwaters and reservoirs fishing for stocked rainbows and brown trout. In my later years I became a local trout fishery bailiff at Walkerwood reservoir and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of working within a trout fishery. I have fished a variety of different rivers and stillwaters from the Clyde, Teviot and Tweed in Scotland down to the chalkstreams of the Frome, Test, Itchen, Avon and more recently the Ribnik in Bosnia. I've also fished and guided on the Hebridean island lochs of Islay for wild Brown Trout and the islands shores for Sea Trout, Bass and Mullet.
I've fished the River Tame regularly now for a number of years and quite often three or four times a week in the trout season and have gained extensive knowledge of accessing the river and the rivers fish holding areas and how, when and where to fish the River Tame with various methods such as dry fly, the duo, Czech and French nymphing.
The rivers of England, Scotland and Wales are primarily where you will find me fishing for 'Wild' Brown Trout and Grayling. I also go back to my roots to fly fish lakes, reservoirs, stillwaters and canals for stocked fish, Pike, Carp and coarse fish species on the fly wherever they maybe.
I've always had a passion and an enthusiasm to share the knowledge and experience I have gained whilst fishing for over four decades...
Why don't you come and join me? Please feel free to contact me for any further information, advice or just a chat...
